On the mansion tour with a Halloween twist, you will see the majestic vestibule and entrance hall, reception room, parlor, library, and the sumptuous Victorian dining room – all decorated with seasonal trimmings for Halloween.

The second floor, which centers around the grand Picture Gallery, is not decorated and visitors can see those spaces in all their traditional splendor.

For those wanting to see the mansion and the beautiful seasonal decorations, this is the better option than the nighttime performances, as the focus is on the many Gothic Revival furnishings we bring out of storage and display during October only. These tours are appropriate for children of all ages.

October 8 – 31, 2018

THURSDAYS – MONDAYS

10 am – 4 pm

$5 per person grounds fee for those wishing to see only the sculptures and grounds.*

The popular Scarecrow Invasion leaps into the future with a completely new way to see experience the fall landscape!

All new outdoor sculpture display: Futurescape
This year, local sculptor Malcolm MacDougall III fills the roadway with futuristic metal sculptures. The eerie sculptures are a beautiful setting for daytime leaf-peeping, or a mysterious nighttime experience. The display will give visitors the opportunity to explore areas of the site that they would not normally discover.

Always a popular place for fall leaf-peeping, Lyndhurst’s grounds will be particularly beautiful as the leaves change color and begin to reveal spectacular views of the Hudson River and new Mario Cuomo Bridge. At night, the reflective sculptures are dramatically lit for a supernatural, eerie quality. Walking the secluded landscape in the dark is always a major part of the experience.

Scarecrow Invasion Returns!

In collaboration with the installation, 200 students will visit Lyndhurst to create the always popular Scarecrow Invasion. The kids’ scarecrows spread across the entry lawn in a spooky army of color and creativity.

* There is no additional charge for visitors attending other Halloween events, like Mansion Tours with a Twist and Jay Ghoul’s House of Curiosities.

PARKING

Lyndhurst charges $5 per person to visit the grounds by vehicle. The grounds fee can be credited toward the purchase of a tour ticket. No grounds fee is charged to pre-paid tour/event ticketholders or members. Parking is only available in designated lots.  Do not park along roads. Please note, there is no available off-site parking in the area near Lyndhurst.
