From the creators of the Academy Award–nominated Ernest & Celestine comes another hilarious, heartwarming tale of animal misfits. The countryside isn’t always as calm and peaceful as it’s made out to be, and the animals on this farm are particularly wacky: a fox who mothers a family of chicks, a pig who plays the stork, and a duck who wants to be Santa Claus. This delirious, delightful triptych of interlocking stories harkens back to classic Looney Tunes shorts and slapstick two-reelers. But underneath the gags, the three stories offer a sensitive and beautiful portrayal of family and the anxieties of modern life.

In a small Mexican town, three childhood friends find themselves on different paths. Manolo is a reluctant bullfighter, torn between doing what his family expects and following his heart. Joaquin is a soldier, with a secret behind his heroics. And they’re both interested in the very independent Maria. Things get even more complicated when two gods from the underworld make a wager on who will marry her. Embarking on an incredible adventure that spans three fantastical worlds, Manolo must overcome his greatest fears and return to his true love during the biggest, most colorful celebration of the year: el Dia de los Muertos—the Day of the Dead.
