Hudson Valley Kids' Christmas Wish Program 2017
For 4 years, Hudson Valley Kids has been running a Christmas Wish program. Hudson Valley residents who are suffering through extreme hardship write to us and request assistance in providing a happy Christmas for their children. Now in it's fifth year, this operation provides a way for fortunate, caring people to help hundreds of children right in their own area!
************ The DEADLINE for wish requests was THURSDAY, DECEMBER 14TH ************
HOW TO GRANT A CHRISTMAS WISH:
Step 1: Visit our list of available families to find a family / families/ child/ children you would like to help:
Step 2: Email Kristen or Danielle (see contact info below) or send us a message on
Hudson Valley Kids' www.facebook.com/HudsonValleyKids/Facebook page and
tell us who you would like to help.
Step 3: Once we confirm that you agree to either agree to meet the family at a public place during
daylight hours (which requires the exchange of first names & phone #'s and/or email addresses),
or to ship the gifts directly to the family's house (we will first ask the family if they are comfortable
sharing their address), we will give you the family's information.
Step 4: Contact the family before you start shopping.
Step 5: Make arrangements for gift delivery.
The type of gift, amount of gifts, and value of gifts are up to the discretion of the wish-granter. Gifts must be new and unwrapped. This is for safety and security purposes. The wish-granter may provide gift-wrapping supplies (i.e. new rolls of wrapping paper, rolls of tape) at their own discretion. If you have gently-used items that you would like to offer a family, we will ask the family if they are open to receiving such items (some people have had people give them used clothing and may not have space for any more.)
We ask that you keep us informed of gift drop-off or delivery plans and let us know how everything goes.
THANK-YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION ! MERRY CHRISTMAS !
